Alejandro Luque

Alejandro Luque is the principal investigator or the eLightning project.
He completed his undergratuate studies in Sevilla, Spain and obtained a PhD in Plasma Physics at the University of Bayreuth (Germany). After two post-doctoral positions in Bochum (Germany) and Amsterdam (The Netherlands) he returned to Spain in 2010 to join the Transient Plasmas in Planetary Atmospheres (TRAPPA) group at the Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía (IAA). In 2015 he was awarded an ERC Consolidator Grant to build a group dedicated to the computational investigation of lightning physics.

Alejandro Malagón
After completing a Master in Quantum Field Theory from Universidad Autónoma in Madrid, Alejandro Malagón joined the project as an undergraduate in January 2017. He is currently developing numerical models to investigate the interaction between an electrical discharge and the fluid dynamics of the underlying gas.
